Disconnect to Reconnect - Finding Purpose and Renewal in the Garden

Sometimes, we need to disconnect to truly reconnect. In November, I let go of my corporate job. While purposeful work can be fulfilling, I found myself drained and in need of renewal. Seeking clarity, I turned to the quiet beauty of a farmland path—a perfect place to pray and listen for my creator’s voice, and to rediscover my own. I asked for a fresh start, knowing that God has a way of offering second chances, often beginning in a garden.

Nature has always been where I feel most connected. Yet, so many of us spend our days indoors, tethered to screens, chatting digitally while missing real connections. I thought about the plastic boxes of commercial lettuce and herbs sitting in refrigerated aisles—expensive, impersonal, and often left to waste in our busy kitchens. It’s time to change. It’s time to reconnect—with ourselves, with each other, with the source of our food, and with God, who gave us gardens to nourish, sustain, and delight.

The answer I sought came surprisingly quickly. The path led me to something new, rooted in something timeless. I realized I could teach again—my greatest joy—and help others find connection and renewal through their own gardens. I am a Connected Gardener. Are you ready to grow?
